In Axis LMS, a User Session is a one device/IP combination. This often extends to a single browser as well, though some niche browsers will obscure themselves.

Inactive Session Detection

If enabled, the LMS will prompt a user to prove that they are still active after a period of inactivity. Users are considered to be active when navigating between pages within the User Learning Portal and in courses. If enabled, users may be prompted to confirm they are still active in the system during learning activities and online meetings that are longer in duration that the time period selected.

User Session Limits

You can deter users from sharing their login credentials with others by limiting users to a single active session at a time. If limited, when a user logs in, the system will automatically detect whether that user account is already currently logged in. If the system determines that user account already has an active session, the user who is attempting to log in will be forced to either logout or disconnect the pre-existing user sessions (logging them out) before they can continue.

When limited, this setting prevents users from logging in to their account from multiple browsers or devices at the same time.

Admin Override Code

If user sessions are limited, this code can be used to allow a second user session to login. It can be entered on the dialog displayed to the user when they are given the options to either logout or disconnect.
