ILT and Virtual Classrooms

Overview

What is ILT?

ILT (Instructor Led Training) is a component in Axis LMS enabling you to set up Live training led by instructors - either in a physical classroom, or virtually using video streaming. It is available in the Learning area of Axis LMS.

An ILT Program is the delivery mechanism for ILT. The majority of the customizations made to how ILT operates can be applied on a Program-by-Program basis, and users will start their search for ILT training beginning with a Program name. For example, if your organization offered training for 10 different subjects, you would like have just 10 ILT Programs — each aligned to one of the 10 subjects. ILT Programs are divided into three primary components: the Program, the Sessions, and the Meetings.

Sessions are the 'semesters', or periods of time, that a User is signing up for in an ILT Program. An ILT Program might, for example, have four different Sessions a User can sign up for: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. If a user completes any of these Sessions, they will receive credit for having completed the associated ILT Program. Each Session within a Program can be held differently; different Instructors, different Facilities, different times of the day, and different days.

Meetings are what Sessions are comprised of; an individual meeting is simply a day and time. Typically a Session will have many Meetings. These are what Users are actually attending, and will advance their progress towards completing the Session, and ultimately receiving credit for the Program. Meetings are scheduled to be held either in-person, or virtually/online, which users can access through the Learning Portal.
