Publishing/Republishing a SlidePoint Module

When do you need to Publish/Republish?

When you’re working with a SlidePoint module, changes you make to that module (i.e. adding or removing slides, editing slide contents, etc.) will not appear to the user until the module has been published or republished, regardless of whether or not the module has been saved in the SlidePoint Editor. This allows you to take your time and make changes to your module without affecting your users already participating in the module.

When do you need to Publish/Republish?
After you create your SlidePoint module and add content to that module, you’ll need to publish the module before it can be inserted into your course and viewed by your users. Also, whenever you make a Copy of an existing module you’ll need to publish the new module.

After a module has been inserted into a course and can be accessed by your users, any time you make any changes to the content of the module through the SlidePoint editor, you’ll need to republish that module before the changes become visible to your users.

You do not need to republish a module when you make changes to the module settings (i.e. skin, response pages, CSS, or JavaScript) – all changes to the module settings are instantly applied to the module upon saving the settings.

Tip: An easy way to tell if your module needs to be republished is by previewing the module. When you preview, if the preview you are viewing (which is based upon the saved module from the SlidePoint Editor) is different from the published version of the module, a message will be displayed when you first launch the preview alerting you that to republish the module.
