Integrating External Forms into Axis LMS using Zapier

Integrating Axis LMS with 1,000+ Apps, Systems and Services is easy when you use Zapier.

Popular services such as Salesforce, PayPal, QuickBooks Online, and Zoho CRM can send data to Axis LMS, at which point you can perform actions on the data.

Using this methodology, you will be creating a ‘Zap’ — think of them as cause/effect scenarios. When something happens in some other system, this should happen in Axis LMS as well.

Don't see Axis LMS in Zapier?

(if you do not already have an account, you will be able to sign up for a free account)

Every automated action within Zapier begins by selecting the ‘Make a Zap!’ Button, while logged into your Zapier account.
    Cause…
A visitor filled out a form using Cognito Forms

    Effect…
Add a user to Axis LMS
After selecting ‘Make a Zap!’ we're going to need to select an App to retrieve data from. For this example, we will be integrating using data submitted through Cognito Forms and bringing it into Axis LMS to create a User.

Next, we will select the trigger action that needs to occur inside the Cognito Forms application. For Cognito Forms, we’re looking for a New Entry to be filled out. After selecting the New Entry Action, we’re going to select which form needs to be filled out for this action to occur.

Now its time to choose an application that needs to be effected, so we will select Axis LMS.

Next we will need to select which Action you’d like Axis LMS to take. For this scenario, we will taking the information entered into the Cognito Forms form and use it to create a new User in Axis LMS.

After connecting our Axis LMS account (system URL and an API key), we’re brought to a form very similar to Axis LMS’s own User Profile Editor. Here, we’ll select how we want to utilize the information that Cognito Forms is sending, and format it in a way that makes sense for our Axis LMS system.

To see what information is available from your application, we can select the icon to the right of each field. When selecting fields, we can also concatenate multiple fields; allowing us to manipulate the data in order to adhere to requirements or a desired formatting in our Axis system.

As always, the only required data to create a user in Axis LMS is their username; but we do have full access to all of a users’ profile fields, including their 15 custom fields.

Once we’ve set up all the fields we want to populate with the Zap! Action, we’re going to Send Test to Axis LMS. After a successful Test, we’re given the option to save and name our new Zap! and optionally turn it on for our Zapier account. If switched on, every time our form is filled out through Cognito Forms, a new user will be added into your Axis LMS system.
