Axis LMS Course Certificate

While crafting your courses inside Axis, you’re very likely to be working with the Course Certificate. Course Certificates use dynamic data - this means that if a user earns the Certificate with their maiden name, then opens it again after marriage, the name on the Certificate would update to use the latest information available.

Creating and Customizing

Learning > Online Courses > Manage > Course Certificate

Each Course uses its own Course Certificate; to start working with it, you’ll want to select the Course Certificate icon from your Course’s dashboard.

At the top of the Certificate page, you are able to set the different requirements users must meet to achieve the Certification. There are two checkboxes you can check off to determine if a user is able to access this certificate. These are cumulative - checking one does not excuse the user from achieving the other requirement.

Completion is entirely Progress related, and users will accumulate progress as long as they complete content - regardless of whether or not they received a passing score. The Course Average is score related, and will only grow as a user's score advances.

The Certificate editor is very similar to the rest of the editors within Axis: a simple to use editor that can be toggled between design view and HTML view. The default Course Certificate is relatively simple and uses three different placeholders atop an image. You can change both the image and the text as you would with any other editor.

To change the image, select the blue ribbon banner so that it become the focused object, then select the image tile. You will then be able to select a new image with either a direct URL, or by selecting one from your Files library. If you’re going to be replacing the background image, keep in mind that the default image is 792px wide by 576 pixels wide.

Achieving and Accessing

Course Certificates are unique because you can give the user access to the Certificate at any time, without risking handing out completed Certificates. You’re able to do this because, unless the user has met the Certificate’s requirements, they’ll receive an alert, rather than the Certificate. You can adjust these requirements when setting up your Certificate.

Users may be able to open a Course Certificate anytime, but it will be unusable until they reach the requirements

After meeting the Certificate’s Requirements, users can access their Course Certificate through either Certificate widget on the Learning Portal, or using the Certificates placeholder right in the Course.

To add the Course Certificate, select the Course Content icon, then Browse your Course Widgets and select the Certificate placeholder.

To add a Certificate Widget, begin editing one of your Learning Portal pages, then click "Add Widget”. Scroll to the Reports and Scores section to select the User Certificate Listing.
