Learning Cheatsheet - Integrating Skype

Through the use of Skype’s button generator, you can allow your users to connect to you in a whole new way. If you’re already a Skype member, you can customize your Skype button’s functions here. After you’ve copied the generated code (see the sample below), you can add it directly into a course.
    <em>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.skypeassets.com/i/scom/js/skype-uri.js"></script>
    <div id="SkypeButton_Chat_username_1">
    <script type="text/javascript">
    Skype.ui({
    "name": "chat",
    "element": "SkypeButton_Chat_username_1",
    "participants": ["username"],
    "imageSize": 24
    });
    </script>
    </div>
    </em>

Adding to Your Courses

You can add a Skype button to your courses just like you’d add a learning object. First, begin editing the desired Course Page. Once you’re editing the page, select a section to add it to, then follow these steps:
  1. Find a subsection to add the button to
  2. Add Content to this Subsection
  3. Select ‘HTML Source Code’ from under the Visual Content heading
  4. Paste the code from Skype
  5. Add to Course, Submit Changes

If integrating Skype into your Axis LMS, you will need to adjust the settings of your Skype account to accept Skype Calls from Anyone
The features discussed in this article may or may not be available on your LMS system.
